Dana Hoey
Dana Hoey (b. 1966) received her BA in Philosophy from Wesleyan University and an MFA in photography from Yale in 1997. Hoey’s work examines contemporary female identity through staged and directed photographs and videos. She has exhibited widely in the United States and abroad with notable solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit in 2017 and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC in 2000. Her work is held in various public collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC; Smithsonian Institution, DC; Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art; Middlebury College Museum of Art, VT; the National Museum of Women in the Arts, DC; and the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco.
