John Walker
During the summer of 2016, John Walker completed a series of 9 photogravures with hand coloring entitled Catlin Lee, as well as a single photogravure, Pemaquid, named for the town in Maine in which he lives. Walker added touches of gouache, acrylic, and collage to each of these works making them all subtly unique. The editions were released at the Edition's and Artists' Books Fair in November 2016. Walker completed three vibrant woodcuts with the Neiman Center in 2021.
Walker (b. 1939, England) lives and works in Maine. He studied at Birmingham College of Art and continued his studies at The British School in Rome and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. Walker’s long list of accolades includes a Harkness Fellowship (1969-70) and a Guggenheim Fellowship (1981). His work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions both in the United States and abroad, including solo shows at the Museum of Modern Art, NY and The Tate Gallery, London.
